The Eagle Bone
Whistle is used in our Lakota/Dakota/Nakota Ceremonies.
We use it during our Sundance; when we are in the highest level of
sincerity
(the prayers coming from the heart blown through the whistle).
We use the Eagle Bone Whistle in harmony with the songs and dance to the
rhythm of the drum. The unifying sound of the drumbeat (heartbeat of
Mother Earth) and the Eagle Bone Whistle will be understood by Tunkasila
(Grandfather), for it is really the voice of Wakantanka (The Great
Spirit).
